As I found myself with a little more free time than I could handle, I started looking up different DIY projects that can fill the time. And as the Christmas Holidays are upon us, the choice was easy: Christmas stuff. There we go:
Christmas star origami
First thing I did was a pair of origami stars. I got the idea, and the how-to from this wonderful blog: Origami Star Tutorial. First I tried it with normal papers that I usually use for notes. It wasn't as easy as I though, because the gluing of the inner cylinder is more difficult the smaller the piece of paper used. The final stapling was also quite difficult, but I was happy with the end result, and it is now hanging in my kitchen.
I then went and got myself origami paper from this adorable tiny store called "Fold-a-paper" (as close a translation as I can manage). I did it with three different colours, and I played a bit with the folding. the two pieces from each colour were folded in the opposite direction to add just a little more variability (as if it was still needed). It was easier to measure, cut, fold and glue, and I will probably hang it on my front door. The end piece is a bit bigger than I though it will be, but it still looks great. Can very well be the centrepiece of any major decoration, weather it is on windows, doors, ceilings, or any bigger piece of furniture.
More coming soon. Enjoy :)
